1 can or jar Sauerkraut*
1 Apple, diced
1 Onion, diced
Karoway Seed
Sugar
Put sauerkraut in large skillet or frying pan. Cut up part of apple and onion and dice (about 1/4-1/3 c. of each.) Add to sauerkraut. Add desired amount of karoway seed. Sprinkle sugar on top, stir in and cook until sauerkraut has a sweet-n-salty flavor adding more sugar if needed. Heat on medium to medium-high heat for 45 minutes (or until tender-not mooshy or chewy.) Add water if sauerkraut starts to dry out while cooking.
*Rinse sauerkraut with water before cooking for less of a vinegar taste.
